Thesis Editing

I offer thesis editing for Masters and PhD students who are preparing major research documents for submission. This service draws on my experience in academic writing, research design, and university teaching, including work with postgraduate students, early-career researchers, and academic professionals across complex research and creative projects.

This is an editing service, and differs from the mentorship work I do.

The scope is restricted strictly to language, illustrations, completeness, consistency, formatting, and grammar. I do not edit, rewrite, or advise on thesis content, argument, research design, structure, interpretation, or scholarly contribution.

I work within university thesis-editing guidelines and will provide documentation declaring the nature and extent of the editing undertaken.

Rate: $52/hour
Expected editing speed: approximately 1,500–2,500 words per hour, depending on the quality and condition of the original writing. 10 day turnarounds for documents are to be expected. Timelines agreed upon at start

As a guide:

• 40,000-word thesis: approximately 16–27 hours, or $832–$1,404

• 80,000-word thesis: approximately 32–54 hours, or $1,664–$2,808

Before beginning, I will review a sample of the document and provide an agreed upper limit for the total editing cost. Work is charged hourly within that agreed range, so the final cost may be lower depending on the condition of the draft and the amount of editing required.
